Richard A. Perreault

Richard a. Perreault, age 77, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Madeline A. (Savicki) Perreault for 47 years.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Walter D. Perreault and C. Lois (Berlepsch) Perreault Bovi, he grew up in Seekonk, Massachusetts. A graduate of East Providence High School and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he also earned an MBA from Bryant University. He lived in Warwick for 30 years and had been a resident of North Kingstown from 1997 to 2012. Mr. Perreault had a distinguished career in computer information systems, including roles as a systems analyst at Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI, an information systems professor at Rhode Island College and chief technology officer at VNA of Care New England.

His favorite times were in the garden and on the golf course. He was a URI Master Gardener, serving more than a thousand hours as a volunteer and lecturer. He was an avid golfer, and a longtime member of Potowomut Golf Club, RI Golf Association and South Eastern New England Senior Golf Association. He loved traveling with friends and family, from sightseeing throughout the US, to cruising the Caribbean, Hawaii and Europe, to winter escapes in Florida.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters: Lauren Richards of Moravia, NY, Leslie Perreault of West Warwick, Lisle George of Ajax, Ontario, and Elizabeth Perreault Robbins of Warwick; along with seven grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 29, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service and time of remembrance at 6:00 p.m., in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick.
