Richard M. Carvalho


Richard M. Carvalho, 79, of Warwick, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 10, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Nancy E. (Cherry) Carvalho.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony L. Carvalho and Lucille (Carney) Carvalho. Mr. Carvalho was a graduate of Lockwood High School and the owner of Oak Arts Jewelry until his retirement. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Besides his wife; he leaves his son, Richard M. Carvalho of Warwick, two daughters, Maureen S. Carvalho-Jackson and Kerri L. Silva of Warwick, two step-sons, Thomas L. Scribner of Warwick, and Kevin L. Scribner of Warwick. Cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was the brother of Robert Carvalho of Narragansett and Ann Spetrini of Warwick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. omitted.
