Rinn earns second straight Goalie of the Week honor
For the second time this season, Jacob Rinn has been named ECAC Northeast goaltender of the week.
Rinn, who performed between the pipes for Toll Gate before matriculating to Nichols College, earned the honor by stopping 53 shots in two games last week for the Bison, who have won five of their last six contests.
Last Thursday, Rinn accumulated 21 saves in a 3-1 loss to Wentworth and followed up that effort with a 32-save performance in a 4-1 victory over Becker on Saturday.
For the season, Rinn now has an 8-8-1 record along with a goals against average of 3.04 and an .899 save percentage.
Former Hawks on a roll
Nick Mattiello (Hendricken) has notched ten goals for Assumption this season, which is good enough for a tie atop the Greyhounds’ goal-scoring leaderboard, while his 17 points place him in a tie for second.
Steve Mollo (Hendricken) doubled his goal-scoring output for the season last Saturday, lighting the lamp twice in the first period to put St. Anselm on their way to a 7-4 win over St. Michael’s. In addition to his eight points on the season, Mollo also leads the Hawks in plus/minus with a figure of plus-10.
