Robert A. Verville


Robert A. Verville, 60, of Kate Randall Road died May 21, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Susan D. (Foley) Verville to whom he was married for forty years.

Born in Warwick, a son of the late Arthur R. and Simone (Nadeau) Verville, Jr., he had been a Warwick resident before moving to Foster 18 years ago. He was a partner in ownership of Arrest-A-Pest where he was elected executive of the Year in 1993 and president of the Executives Association of Rhode Island in 1996. Mr. Verville was also a driver for Brinks Armored Car Service for eight years. He served honorably in the Air Force during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart, Presidential Citation and numerous Unit Citations. Bob was an instructor and avid shooter at the Warwick Police Range. Along with teaching children the importance of gun safety in the Youth Rifle Safety Program, he also taught the public. He enjoyed kayaking and spent many days on the water with his wife, Sue. Bob had become a video game enthusiast in the past few years turning it into one of his most loved hobbies.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Michael R. Verville of Boston, a daughter, Michelle A. Polkey and her husband, Joseph, of Windsor, Conn.; a grandson, Joseph R. Verville-Polkey; a sister Laurie Grassia of West Warwick and a brother, Brian M. Verville of Okinawa, Japan. He was ‘Crazy Uncle Bob’ to many. He will forever be loved, cherished and missed by all that knew him.

His funeral will be Friday at 8 a.m. from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Peter Church, 350 Fair St., Warwick at 9 a.m. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to the J. Arthur Trudeau Center 3445 Post Road Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.

Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
