Robert D. Sylvester, age 67, of Church Avenue, Warwick, died at home on Saturday, May 27, 2017. He was the husband of Sharon L. (Whelan) Sylvester.

Born in Rumford, Maine, a son of the late Walter E. Sylvester, Sr. and Beverly L. (Townsend) Sylvester, he lived in Mendon, MA before moving to Warwick 27 years ago. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, and also served in the United States Navy and the United States Army. Mr. Sylvester was formerly employed by Granoff Properties in Providence for 15 years. He earlier worked for Grinnell Corporation. He was a member of the United Motorcycle Club in Cumberland.

He was the father of the late Jason Sylvester. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three step-sons, Scott A. Bianchi of Warwick, Kevin Bianchi of Commerce City, CO, and Keith Bianchi of Cranston; six grandchildren; eight siblings: Walter “Skip” Sylvester, Jr. of Maine, Frances Ball of Kansas, Ruth Veins of RI, Terry Bouchard of Maine, Barbara Sylvester of Maine, Mary Thompson of Maine, Margaret Squires of Arizona, Mike Sylvester of Maine; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Sylvester.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, June 1, from 4-7 p.m. in the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial will be private.
