Robert H. Fortin, 90, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Ellis) Fortin.
He was a son of the late Leon and Lillian (Lavallee) Fortin. Mr. Fortin was employed at Spencer Plating Company in Providence for 50 years before retiring in 1999. He was a World War II Army Airborne Veteran and Korean Army Infantry Veteran.
Mr. Fortin was the father of Debora Piro, Robert, William and Paul Fortin, and the late Susan Sweeney, Roberta Raftery and Michael Fortin; brother of Richard and Norman Fortin, Gloria Magner, Joan Flanagan, Diane Aldred and the late Rene Fortin; grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of seven and the late Timothy Fortin.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours, Thursday 4-8 p.m.
