Running for Westbay

The Warwick Firefighters 5K was created in 2016 to promote the importance of health and wellness for department members and their families. Since its inception the event has raised more than $30,000 for Westbay Community Action. This year was no exception and last Thursday firefighters presented Westbay with a $2,000 check at the Safehouse. Warwick Firefighters are extremely grateful for the generosity of event sponsors and in particular TJ Martucci and his staff members from the Martucci restaurant group. Mr. Martucci has donated more than $10,000 to the cause over the past four years. This year’s sponsors included South County Dermatology, Sweet Twist, Law offices of Gursky & Weins, RI Real Estate Group, Warwick Police, Cranston Firefighters, Elite Physical Therapy, Police & Firemens Insurance Association, Trader Joes, HarborOne Bank, and Neighborhood Health Plan of R.I. Committee members include Rescue Lieutenant Michael Carreiro, lieutenant Michael Boynton Sr., Lieutenant Andrew Sutton, Retired Deputy Chief Thomas Jessop, Firefighters Michael Boynton Jr, Stephen Champagne, Jenny Velan and myself Lieutenant George Lusignan. Pictured are Rescue Lieutenants Michael Carreiro, Lieutenant Jessee Reynolds and Lusignan and Firefighters Michael Boynton Jr., Tom Pacheco, Kretchman, CEO of Westbay Community Action Paul Salera, Safehouse manager Susan Lemoi, Kasey Murphy, Emily Branch, Morgan Marcia, Jarred LaPlante and Danielle Duchesneau.
