U.S. Air Force Airman Robert Alves III graduated recently from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Alves earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Robert Alves Jr. of Warwick and Lisa Williams of East Providence and grandson of Robert Alves Sr. and Bette and Aldwin Reid, all of Warwick. He is a 2011 graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2015 from the University of Rhode Island.
