Books will be flying off the shelves this weekend, March 15-17, at the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale at the main branch of the Warwick Public Library, located at 600 Sandy Lane. That's the idea, anyways, as more than 6,000 hard-cover, paperback and children's books, along with a huge selection of DVDs and other finds will be for sale. The event kicks off Friday, March 15 with a preview event, which is free to members of The Friends. You can sign up to be a Friend of the Library for $10 at the preview. New members of the Friends can receive two books for free at the sale. The full book sale open to members of the public will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday. Proceeds from sales go towards library programming and events, including museum passes, concerts, movies and summer reading for children, teens and adults. You may also donate books and DVDs to the event, all of which are tax deductible, at the front desk during all library operating hours. Contact 739-5440x x3 for more information. The Friends of the Warwick Library have donated $17,680 to the library over history. (Warwick Beacon photo)
