To ensure the 10 gold medallists in the SkillsUSA state contest and a student officer of the state organization get to the national competition in June in Louisville, the faculty of the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center hosted a breakfast and raffle Sunday at Dave’s Bar and Grill. With more than 300 tickets sold and proceeds of the raffle, the event was expected to raise about $3,000. That surely will help, as costs are $1,100 per person and the center wants all the gold medallists to compete and represent the state. A golf tournament on June 2 at Cranston Country Club is a second fundraiser planned. Information on the tournament is available by calling the center at 734-3150.
