The Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce broke with the tradition of a dinner installation of its board of directors and ambassadors at a private club or upscale restaurant last Wednesday with a community “Taste of Fall” event at the Radisson Hotel, where 20 eateries provided samples of their fare. More than 150 people attended the event that was short on ceremony – there were no speeches and the installation was brief – and bountiful on a wide selection of entrees and desserts. Chamber president and CEO Lauren Slocum aims to make the “Taste of Fall” an annual occasion.
