More than 350 people turned out for the Conimicut Village Association annual tree lighting at Donovan Park Friday night. The crowd provided a countdown to the lighting and joined in singing carols as they held candles before crossing West Shore Road to Woodbury Union Church for more Christmas music by the Winman Junior High School Choir, refreshments and, naturally, a visit from Santa.

BELTING IT OUT: Rick Cascella didn’t hesitate when it came to the hymn “Let There Be Peace.” Recalling the second verse from his days in the high school chorus, Cascella took the lead.
