The Conimicut Village Association happily received a State Senate grant from the hands of Senator Michael McCaffrey at their July monthly meeting. Mayor Joe Solomon, Ginny Barham, president, Leslie Derrig, vice president, and Senator McCaffrey were presented the $2,500 that will be used for the continued improvements into the Conimicut Point Park children’s playground. This grant will go towards the new slide that will replace the one that has aged and worn in time. The Conimicut Village Association has worked hard with the City of Warwick and State Government Grant office to make improvements to the playground with purchases such as new swings, including a handicapped swing, merry-go-round and a Jump-2 teeter-saw. No matter what the money is spent on, legislative grants are evil and contrary to how government should be run. Take the $2500 and throw it in his face.

Dear justanidiot,
I agree that the "grant" is only a disguised way of saying "it came from the taxpayers" but the money is there and I would rather it land in Conimicut than outside of Warwick. Agree?
happy August everyone.

Richard,
How come you never told us about the tax lien that you had on your office condo at 1050 Main St. (unit 16) in East Greenwich due to unpaid assessments in the amount of $4857.12 that was issued on Jan. 27, 2012 or the foreclosure of that unit that was issued on April 19th of 2012? Can you give us some details on this debacle? It just seems your trail of unpaid bills gets larger and larger.
