When Connie Mero got the call from a neighbor to check out the bird in her yard Friday afternoon, she was astounded to discover it was a bald eagle. Mero said she and her neighbors crept as close as they could. They feared their barking dogs might set the eagle flying, but he stayed put, keeping a watchful eye as Mero snapped this picture. “He was just hanging out,” she concluded.
