The message from the Rhode Island Association of Justice Assistance is to wear a helmet while biking, roller blading or skate boarding. To reinforce that point, the association is handing out 500 helmets to kids in Providence, Cranston, Cumberland, Woonsocket and Warwick this year. Representing the association, Senator Michael McCaffrey talked about the importance of wearing a helmet and gave 123 helmets to Hoxsie School students recently. Here, he adjusts a helmet for Addison Reiss and the kids wear them prepared for anything in class. (Warwick Beacon photos)
