Kate MacDonald has been named Director of Communications at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Reporting to Chief Philanthropy Officer, Lisa Roth Blackman, MacDonald will drive the overall communications strategy for the Food Bank, supporting its mission to improve the quality of life for all Rhode Islanders by advancing solutions to the problem of hunger. A graduate of Rhode Island College and resident of Riverside, MacDonald comes to the Food Bank with 19 years of experience in marketing and communications, primarily in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the Food Bank’s development team, her most recent role was with Citizens Bank’s enterprise communications function, following a long tenure as Coastway Community Bank’s vice president of marketing and communications. MacDonald served as board vice chair for AS220, a Providence arts non-profit, and previously donated her time to the Food Bank by sitting on event committees.
