Work on the Rocky Point pier has come to a halt as the shelter to be built at the end of the pier overlooking the bay is being redesigned to meet fire codes, Megan DiPrete, chief of planning and development for DEM, reported. She said the new design would call for a metal roof. Design of the connecting platform is also being worked on. The pier was to have been completed in December, but that is not projected to happen until next spring. (Warwick Beacon photo)
