No rain, yet a rainbow

It would have been a different story had the event been held Saturday afternoon, but the 4th annual Children’s Wishes Rainbow Run was held that morning, and while the runners stayed dry they still finished in a rainbow of colors. The one-mile run held on Lenihan Lane in East Greenwich is expected to raise about $10,000 for Children’s Wishes, based in Warwick. There was no entry fee for the event and participants were encouraged to donate support for Ursula’s Wish to Disney. Ursula recently underwent a kidney transplant.

Founded in 2009, Children’s Wishes goal is to provide Rhode Island children with amazing Wish experiences while assisting their families with continued support beyond the Wish. The organization was built on the commitment to serve Wish children and their families with love, honor, dedication and respect. To date, Children’s Wishes has granted 90 Wishes and has five in progress.
