The Pawtuxet Rangers opened the doors to the armory on Remington Street Sunday evening as they celebrated the holiday season with their acclaimed “fish house punch,” songs of the season played by their fife corps, a Yule fire, tasty hors d’oeuvres and great company. The open house provided an occasion for the Rangers to show off improvements to the armory and a collection of historic memorabilia – including a door from the Sabin Tavern, where colonists gathered on the night to June 9, 1772, before setting out in long boats to set the British schooner Gaspee, which was hard aground on Namquid Point, afire.
