On a visit Thursday to the new Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and Mattresses at Rhode Island Mall, Mayor Joseph Solomon made a beeline for the pillow that immediately caught his eye. Solomon found consensus that dogs are wonderful and his observation that “they hate to see you leave and love to have you return.” The 60,000-square-foot store occupies what was formally the lower level of Sears. It is the second Raymour & Flanigan in Warwick, the first being on Route 2, which is now an outlet. The store is one of 130 in the northeast. After a tour of the showroom, city officials and store executives and associates lined up as Solomon snipped a ceremonial ribbon to open the store. (Warwick Beacon photos)
