Ever since the geodesic dome that once housed airport maintenance trucks and equipment disappeared from Airport Road, its stanchions, standing in a circle, have become the Stonehenge of Warwick. Well, they’re still there but no knowing for how long. As part of the cleanup of the 5.5-acre parcel, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation is removing no longer used structures on the site. About four years ago the site was to have been used by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, but that plan was abandoned. There is no immediate use for the property, said a RIAC spokeswoman, other than leveling it and seeding it. (Warwick Beacon photo)

I would love to see leveling in all the abandoned/closed lots on Airport Road. There is already a great improvement on the property next to Kentucky Fried Chicken. It would be great to see it on the old Hooters and "Stonehenge".

    Dear Cat,

Wouldn't you rather see an income-producing venture there? I would.

I would revisit the Enterprise transaction and consider storage units as well.

The tax revenue would have to be more than what we have now.

    Merry Christmas Cat.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

Of course. It would be far easier to find a buyer if the land was cleared.
