AT&T, a longtime supporter of the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon stepped up to the plate again this year with a $5,000 donation. The money will help pay for the competition that was held March 10 as well as testing materials and meals for volunteers and competitors the day of the event. Brooke Thomson, AT&T Rhode Island state president, made the presentation to John Howell, president of the decathlon. Majority House Leader K. Joseph Shekarchi and Majority Senate Leader Michael McCaffrey, who have both been supportive of the decathlon, joined them. (Submitted photo)
