On November 18 a bentwood rocker was presented to the Apponaug Branch of the Warwick Public Library. The rocker was provided by friends of Norman Tobin, a long-time elementary school teacher in the Warwick school system and frequent visitor of the library. Tobin’s passing in early September had a profound effect on his family, co-workers, friends and former students. To provide a lasting tribute to his passion for education and love of books, a group of his friends recently invited his wife Judy (Scavitti) Tobin, son Bradley, daughter Meredith and grandchildren to the library for the presentation. It is their hope that library visitors will enjoy the addition for many years to come and to “Relax, Rock and Read.” Giving the rocker a try is library aide Anne Trainor. (Warwick Beacon photo)
