For years, William Martorelli has helped his older brother, Bobby, run the snowplowing portion of the Martorelli landscaping and plowing business from their West Shore Road location. But this year William, who is a member of the U.S. Air Force, is deployed in the Middle East. “It brought a cloud over me,” Bobby says of his brother’s absence. He realized he wasn’t alone. There are other families whose members are serving in the military. He wondered how he could help and came up with a plan to give 50-pound buckets of a salt/sand mix to Warwick families whose members are deployed. “It is one less thing they would have to worry about,” he said. Bobby posted the offer on the Positive Warwick Facebook page and soon was not only getting requests for the buckets but favorable comments and inquiries from the news media. As of Tuesday, he had delivered 23 buckets. He urged Warwick military families looking for the assistance to call him at 414-9301. (Warwick Beacon photo)
