There were those who beat the traffic and turned to the bay to view this year’s edition of the air show hosted by the Rhode Island National Guard at Quonset last weekend. A State Police vessel kept craft from entering an exclusion zone at the end of the runway and offshore. With planes soaring overhead, boaters took the occasion to barbecue, soak up the sun, feed their pets, take a cool dip, do some people watching from their jet skies and, naturally, take in the show.
