A graduate of the Pilgrim High School class of 1980 and a former student of St. Timothy School, Dennis Olsen began organizing reunions with his Pilgrim alum via Facebook since 2008. In December of 2011, he began organizing reunions with members from his graduating class at St. Timothy's Parochial School.
"Many of us had not seen each other in over three decades," Olsen said. "The evening lasted over seven hours and was filled with a lot of laughs as we shared many memories of our time together."
In 2013, the group toasted to the memory of their favorite teacher, the late Mr. Arundale, during their reunion. He passed away just weeks before the gathering. Last year marked the 40th anniversary of the group's graduation from St. Tim's in 1976, and they were joined by their former principal, Sister Ellen Maytum, who served as the principal from 1968 to 1981. Sister Ellen once again joined the group this year on Oct. 7, along with Father Joseph Henry, who was the assistant pastor at St. Timothy's Church during the ’70s.
"Over forty years later, we are all grateful and proud of the education we have since benefited from, all those years ago," Olsen said.
