Honoring her personal and professional commitment to helping others, Warwick resident Sharon Conard-Wells was presented with United Way’s John H. Chafee Lifetime Service Award on Thursday, October 10 during The United Way of Rhode Island's 93rd Annual Celebration at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence. The longtime director of West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation, Sharon has helped to raise $115 million for community development, helped the organization become a HUD approved counseling agency, redeveloped two Brownfield historic mills and completed three low-income tax credit rental projects, all contributing to her having an impact on thousands of lives.
