Westbay Community Action has issued an appeal for donations for its Westbay Marketplace located in Buttonwoods Shopping Plaza. The marketplace provides food to needy residents, depending heavily on produce grown at the Westbay Farm, donations and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The “wish list” to replenish the shelves includes protein-rich canned foods (i.e. tuna, chili beans, beef stew, corned beef harsh), peanut butter and jelly, canned soup, fruits, vegetables, potatoes, boxed cereal, gluten-free products and diabetic-friendly products. Those interested in setting up a food drive at your workplace should contact Westbay administration at 921-4138. Donations can be dropped off directly to Westbay Marketplace, 211 Buttonwoods Ave., Warwick. Restocking shelves at the market is volunteer Gail Hunold. (Warwick Beacon photo)
