School audit presentation pushed off again as negotiations continue with city

Posted

Citing continuing negotiations into the budget crisis being experienced by the Warwick School Department, School Committee Chairwoman Bethany Furtado and City Council President Steve Merolla co-signed a statement last Thursday which announced that the school department would not be presenting information from its programmatic audit as was planned for Monday night’s City Council meeting.

“The parties are continuing to meet in an effort to resolve this matter,” the statement reads. “It has been jointly agreed that the School Committee will not make a formal presentation at the October 1 City Council meeting. An item regarding the Committee's request is on the Docket for that City Council meeting. The Finance Committee will probably hold the Resolution in Committee.”

There was no indication when or if the audit presentation would occur later this month. The audit presentation was originally scheduled last month, but was pushed off pending a meeting that both sides called “productive.”

The Beacon will continue to follow up as more developments are made known.

I was there. I didn't know it had been postponed. I was upset that it didn't happen. Then I had second thoughts. If they postponed the meeting it indicated that maybe progress was being made. That can only be good for the 80,000 taxpayers that are paying the tab. Through communication comes solution I kept telling myself.

I believe that is the case here. I wish all the participants Godspeed.

    Happy Autumn everyone.

"Through communication comes solution I kept telling myself."

Except the two-time loser publicly continued to push conspiracy theories and accuse the school committee of extortion and blackmail.

The resolution of the school budget issue will be reached because actual, informed elected leaders communicate as mature adults, not like the juvenile failed candidate who can't restrain himself from making uninformed gibberish-filled comments.

    Dear CrickeeRaven,

Thank you for agreeing with me that "through communication comes solution", but you also said it's because "informed elected leaders communicate as mature adults". When you were Avedisians' chief-of-staff Mark, were you not "informed"? Or were you not "mature"? Which one was it?

You anonymous coward of a critic.

    Happy Autumn everyone

"Thank you for agreeing with me..."

The two-time loser again misinterprets others' comments. If he had the slightest ability to correctly understand the written word, he would see that he contradicted his own prior comments -- and now compounds it by lying about what other people say.

    "When you were Avedisians' chief-of-staff..."

The two-time loser has been told that his conspiracy theory about who is using this screen name is false, and yet he continued to humiliate himself by repeating it.

He this proves the original point correct: That he can not, in any way, be considered a leader or mature adult, based on his repeated behavior on this website -- including using the fake title that he gave himself with absolutely no reason, except to satisfy his own delusional ideas.

    Dear CrickeeRaven,

Why don't you prove I'm wrong and tell us your real name.

Or are you too afraid? (you anonymous coward of a critic!)

"Why don't you prove I'm wrong..."

I and many other commenters have, repeatedly, shown the two-time loser to be a liar on a great many topics.

He also clearly does not understand that the burden is on him to prove his claim about the user of this screen name -- as well as any right that he has to enforce rules for the use of this website that its owners have not set for it.

But he can't, and he won't.

He has also never answered directly for why he paid office rent to the same person who previously paid the property taxes on his former residence.

The two-time loser and tax delinquent is, thus, hardly in any position to call anyone else a coward.

Such facts, of course, will not stop him from willingly proving why I and 9,000+ honest, taxpaying voters were 100% correct in rejecting his candidacy again in September.
