Small Business Week recognition planned today
Mayor Scott Avedisian, Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Lauren Slocum and Karen Jedson, director of the city’s Department of Tourism, Culture and Development, will join Kurt Harrington, owner of Something Fishy, today at noon to highlight Small Business Week. Something Fishy is located at 1185 Jefferson Boulevard.
Avedisian will talk briefly about small business in Warwick, Slocum will discuss the Chamber’s efforts on behalf of their members, and Harrington will talk about his company’s growth.
Something Fishy specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of ponds and aquariums. Clients include Foxwoods Casino, Mystic Pizza and Mystic Aquarium. In addition to their Warwick retail store, in 2010 Something Fishy acquired the Fish Division of the Rumford Pet Center in East Providence and Something Fishy operates a Full-Line Aquarium and Pond store within the Rumford Pet Center.
