St. Mark’s Church adding 5 p.m. Saturday service

In response to a growing congregation, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will initiate a new service beginning Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. at the church, 111 West Shore Road.

“This service will begin with quiet reflection and prayer accompanied by Taizé music playing in the background. We will hear all of Sunday’s readings, the sermon and share in the Holy Eucharist,” said the Rev. Susan Wrathall.

In the Episcopal Church, all who are baptized in any denomination are welcome to receive communion. For more information about the parish visit or call the church office at 737-3127 during office hours Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Thanks to the efforts of parishioners, the church’s free community lunch and food pantry served more than 60 last month and 44 families took home groceries. In addition, the Good Book Club meets Wednesday nights and the first Saturday of the month with people from St. Mark's, other Episcopal churches and the community joining together to read the bible.
