On Friday, April 27, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank will host the 6th annual Truck Stop: A Festival of Street Eats. Guests will enjoy a night of tastings from 23 gourmet food trucks for $85 while supporting programs to feed Rhode Island’s hungry. The event has raised more than $161,000 last year and has earned the Food Bank more than $600,000 since it started in 2013.

And this year’s Truck Stop is the biggest ever, with 23 food trucks including newcomers Bon Me, Hometown Pok, Incred-A-Bowl, Ming’s Asian Street Food and Rhody Roots. Live music will be provided by Superchief Trio.

“We’re delighted with the positive response we get to this event every year,” said Food Bank CEO Andrew Schiff. “From our guests to the food vendors to our volunteers and sponsors, everyone has a great night. And, most importantly, we raise much-needed funds to support Rhode Islanders in need of food assistance.”

Truck Stop is organized in partnership with Eat Drink RI with presenting sponsor Stop & Shop as well as IGT, Collette, Washington Trust, Webster Bank and many other generous donors. This year’s Truck Stop will be held on Friday, April 27 from 5:30 to 8 pm at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue in Providence. Tickets may be purchased at rifoodbank.org/truckstop.
