Academic Decathlon team members were provided coaching in one of the more challenging segments of the competition – impromptu speeches – by members of the Rhode Island Toastmasters Club last Thursday at Tech Collective offices in Providence. Seventeen high school teams from across the state are gearing up for the state competition to be held Sunday, March 20 at the Knight Campus of CCRI. Here, Toastmasters Shae McWilliams and Nancy Oliveira chat with the Hendricken team, winner of last year’s competition prior to the workshop. Gina Colvano Krupka of the Toastmasters also worked with the students.
