THE DEATH OF STALIN

* * *

(Black comedy)

If you like theatre of the absurd, you will enjoy this black comedy about the death of Stalin and the subsequent fight for power by his cabinet.

Steve Buscemi is the most recognizable actor, playing Nikita Khrushchev, along with Jeffrey Tambor as the bumbling successor, Malenkov.

This perverted view of history is loaded with funny one-liners, poking fun at Russian governship and the matter-of-fact brutality of the Russian leaders.

Stalin's funeral is as farcical as it gets, as the cast of characters pay their respects while the army eliminates the lower class who want a peek at the pomp and circumstance.

Rated R because the Russians swear a lot and are very violent.
