Titans second, Pats fifth at freshman states


The Toll Gate girls’ indoor track is on the young side this season, which made for some ups and downs during dual meets. But at freshman states on Monday, the Titans shined. They placed second overall, behind only La Salle. Pilgrim took fifth.

The Titans were led by Heather Allstrom, who placed second in the 300, third in the long jump and fifth in the 55. Courtney Jacobsen added a third in the weight throw and a fifth in the shot put, Nina Thibeault finished fourth in the weight throw, Ashley Chin took fifth in the high jump and Caroline Waggoner finished fifth in the 600. The Titans also finished second in the 4x400 relay and fourth in the 4x800 to round out their scoring.

For Pilgrim, Chantavy Crespin won the 600, Kayda Phillip took second in the long jump, Danika Wayss finished fifth in the 1500 and Nicole Morales took fifth in the 300. The Pats also grabbed third in the 4x400 relay, fourth in the 4x200 and sixth in the 4x800.

Vets had one place-winner – Kayla Bourbon finished fifth in the weight throw.
