Todd McLeish to give library talk on return of sea otters

Natural history writer Todd McLeish will present Return of the Sea Otter: The Story of the Animal that Evaded Extinction in the Pacific Ocean at Warwick Public Library on Wednesday, September 12 at 7 p.m.

McLeish will speak about his adventures in researching sea otters along the Pacific Coast. He will describe how sea otters recovered from near-extinction caused by the fur trade, and talk about ongoing threats from sharks, killer whales, oil spills and hunters. Todd McLeish is the author of four books on rare wildlife, including sea otters, narwhals, humpback whales and endangered New England plants and animals. For more information call 739-5440, x9758.
