As Medicare Open Enrollment for 2018 coverage remains open through December 7, 2017 for individuals to select and make changes to their health and drug plans, United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) has scheduled a number of Saturday events to assist those needing help enrolling. Each event will be held at UWRI's office at 50 Valley Street in Providence from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During each open enrollment event, trained navigators will be available to meet one-on-one and confidentially with individuals to answer questions about coverage and plan options, and to provide assistance with enrollment.
The events are free, but those interested in receiving assistance are asked to make an appointment in advance by calling The POINT at 464-4444 or 2-1-1. The first of the events was held Saturday with additional sessions planned Saturday, November 4, Saturday, November 18 and Saturday, December 2.
Those attending an open enrollment event to receive help are asked to bring the following documents and information to assist in the enrollment process: identification; Medicare card and any additional health insurance cards; and a list of prescription medications currently being taken.
Rhode Islanders unable to attend any of UWRI's scheduled Saturday events may call The POINT at 464-4444 or 2-1-1 for information on Medicare enrollment assistance.
