Veterans Assembled electronics (VAe(r)), a Rhode Island service disabled veteran owned business (SDVOB), has for several years been training only service disabled veterans as electronics technicians in Rhode Island through its accelerated Skills Training and Certification program. Now with its proprietary school license, anyone interested in a career as an electronics engineering technician, and who meets VAe's minimum admission requirements can participate in the program.

Also, in recognition of Veterans Day and of the men and women who have served our country, VAe has announced a scholarship to its STRAC program valued at up to $25,000. The winner will attend VAe's four- or five-month training program in Providence and have the opportunity to begin a career in the electronics engineering technician field.

To be eligible for the scholarship a veteran must: Have been honorably discharged; Be interested in a sustainable career in the electronics industry; Establish a financial need/exhausted educational benefits and be able to commit to a four- or five-month training program (40 hours per week for 15 or 20 weeks) at the VAe site in Providence.

Applicants or people who are nominating a worthy veteran need to provide a maximum two-page essay describing why they deserve the scholarship and submit no later than Nov. 16 at scholarship@vaellc.com.
