While the Warwick Vets varsity baseball team continues to get outstanding pitching performances, the Vets freshman team is making waves too. In an 11-0 mercy-rule victory over Toll Gate on May 4, Vets’ Adam Dorsey tossed a six-inning perfect game. He struck out 14.
The freshman ’Canes are now 7-2 on the season, trailing only undefeated Bishop Hendricken in the Division I standings.
Reddy basketball camp set for June
The Get Reddy to Play Girls Basketball Camp run by La Salle basketball coach Sean Reddy will be held in June at La Salle Academy. The camp is for girls in grades five through 12, and registration is currently open.
The week one camp runs from June 20-22 and is designed to refine offensive and defensive skills. Cost of the camp is $110. It runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p .m.
The week two camp runs from June 25-29 and emphasizes fundamentals, with a focus on shooting, ball handling, passing rebounding and individual and team offense and defense. The cost of the week two camp is $160 and it also runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
