Vets tennis dominates Central


The Warwick Vets girls’ tennis team improved to 6-5 on the year with a dominating 7-0 win over Central on Friday afternoon.

Lauren Smith, Jamie Yates, Olivia Roy and Thalia Rivera-Ortiz all picked up wins on the singles ladder, while the teams of Tauri Sequeria and Guiliana Melo, Jenn Salerno and Joelle Nelson and Allison Chace and Amanda Reid all grabbed wins in doubles play.

The ’Canes won all seven matches in straight sets.

Vets has now won four of its last five matches, and is alone in fourth place in Division III-West with two matches to go.

The first of those matches is today, when the ’Canes will play second-place Scituate on the road at 4 p.m.

They’ll end their regular season on Thursday, when they travel to unbeaten Coventry at 3:30 p.m.
