To the Editor:
As there is no longer any respect or moral compass left in this deteriorating nation and as most of its inhabitants are unenlightened halfwits, why are we so concerned regarding these overpaid and undereducated imbeciles of the NFL?
If any of them had an ounce of intelligence they would be using it in some other area of expertise. The last time I checked, running and catching a spherical object did not allow one to become a MENSA candidate. Now, if the other halfwits who attend these games and enable these buffoons to continue to earn salaries that bring shame to the economies of many starving nations should begin to stay home and spend some quality time with their wife and kids, perhaps these overpaid juvenile delinquents would begin to see that they are not the voice of reason in this nation. They are the voice of racial disharmony and complete and utter idiocy. I spent 32 years in the service of my nation. Most of these entitled buffoons probably never spent 32 minutes.
It is truly sad when the population of a nation turns against itself, but then that's what most of a generation did back in the late sixties and early seventies when, as we were coming home, we were spat on and called baby killers by a pack of cowards and lowlifes.

It's been a treat watching the NFL commit ritual suicide at the BEGINNING of the season...they don't even have a unified message of WHY they're protesting.
I wonder if any of them realize that kneeling is a universal sign of weakness and submission?

“If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that the government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable ..." It is completely understandable that most people disagree with kneeling during the anthem, much in the same way we disagree with the Westboro Baptist Church's protests at servicemen funerals. But the Supreme Court upheld their right to protest under free speech. If we silence it for one, will we be the one silenced next? It is a double-edged sword that goes both ways. At the very least, it opened up a dialogue. We shouldn't let this opportunity pass us by to build a bridge instead of burning it.

What you and most others don't understand is that they are protesting while on the job- what they do on their own time is their business, but on the field their job is to play a game for the amusement of customers, not protest their perceived grievances.
Many who participated in women's and illegal aliens' "rights" protests earlier this year found out they didn't have a job the next day; unfortunately, the NFL's cowardly management made the error of approving of this nonsense, and now their suffering the consequences.
Great way to start the season- alienate their customers.
Your argument is a fumble.
