Voices & Harps at Ryan Concert Hall, Smith Center for the Arts

Providence College’s Department of Theatre, Dance & Film, together with the Department of Music, presents Voices & Harps, a concert by Moya Brennan and Cormac De Barra on Thursday March 8 at 7:30 p.m. Grammy award winner Moya Brennan is the singer of the Irish musical group Clannad as well as having a successful solo career. She has sung on most of the world’s great stages and has collaborated with many notable artists including The Chieftains, Robert Plant, Bruce Hornsby and Bono.

Cormac De Barra is renowned internationally as a versatile harp virtuoso. He continually pushes the boundaries of the Irish harp through his work with a wide array of artists, including Hazel O’Connor, Julie Feeney and Clannad. De Barra also tours and records with his brothers Fionán and Éamonn in the family group, Barcó. Besides his busy performing schedule he regularly gives workshops and masterclasses around the world. Brennan and De Barra will be joined by Sinead Madden on fiddle, keyboard, tin whistle and vocals for this concert.

The concert in the Smith Center is a fundraiser for scholarships in the Department of Music, and the Department of Theatre, Dance & Film and will honor the Bobby Murray ALS Fund as well.
