Volunteer Training for Beauty Workshop Program
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is looking for volunteers in Rhode Island for its Look Good Feel Better program, a workshop that helps cancer patients regain their confidence and self-esteem often affected by the physical changes caused by cancer treatment. The next certification training is coming up later this month.
Volunteers may be licensed, experienced beauty professionals or general volunteers. Professional cosmetologists, hairstylists, makeup artists, nail technicians, and aestheticians are in great demand and are asked to volunteer and conduct group workshops and/or one-on-one consultations.
The commitment is three to five hours per month. The four-hour certification class being offered on April 26 and a refresher course that needs to be taken every two years also are required.
