Walk to raise awareness for death by suicide
Saturday morning will give people the opportunity to fight against death by suicide, which claims the lives of more than 36,000 Americans every year, as Warwick resident Gail Wayne is chairing a walk that is set to take place at Goddard State Memorial Park.
Wayne lost her daughter, Megan, a student at Toll Gate High School, to death by suicide in 2010, and said registration begins at 9 a.m., with the walk to follow at approximately 10. The event, which is called “Out of the Darkness,” occurs in states throughout the country and was originally created by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
