DUI

On the evening of Jan. 30, Officer Brian J. Holleran reports responding to the area of Bald Hill and Toll Gate roads for a report of a drunken driving incident in progress.

Dispatch indicated that according to security personnel at Kent Hospital, a silver Nissan sedan nearly struck several vehicles in the parking lot before exiting onto Toll Gate Road heading toward Bald Hill Road. Security reported the vehicle was seen crossing the yellow double lines into oncoming traffic.

Holleran reports locating a vehicle matching the suspect’s description merging onto Bald Hill Road northbound in the right through lane. He reports the vehicle repeatedly drifted within the lane jerked to the left after crossing the white fog line. He then initiated a traffic stop, and half of the vehicle was in the lane of traffic when it came to a rest.

Holleran reports the operator’s eyes were watery and bloodshot, that her speech was slurred and she appeared lethargic. She was reportedly unable to provide her driver’s license. The officer also reports observing an opened bottle of vodka in the vehicle.

The operator is said to have consented to field sobriety testing, which she was reportedly unable to complete.

Suzanne M. Wilson, 49, of 97 Allen Ave., Cranston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

STOLEN WHEELS

Officer Anthony J. D’Abrosca reports responding to the NYLO Hotel at 400 Knight St. at approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 27 for a report of wheels and tires being stolen from a vehicle.

At the scene, the reporting party told D’Abrosca that he arrived to work at 4 p.m. that day. Hours later, he said, a guest informed him that all four wheels and tires were missing from his blue 2018 Toyota C-HR, which was on blocks. The officer observed the vehicle, and his report was forwarded to detectives.

LARCENY

Officer Frank J. Montanaro reports responding to a Primrose Drive residence at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 3 for a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle.

The reporting party told police that at approximately 8 a.m. that morning, he discovered several items missing from his 2002 Ford Explorer. He said the vehicle had last been used at approximately 11 p.m. the previous night.

The missing items included a wallet containing $200 in cash, a hunting backpack, two knives, a flashlight, a saw, three headlamps, two hunting bibs and other assorted hunting items.

A canvass of the neighborhood indicated surveillance video was unavailable. The reporting party indicated he wished to press charges if a suspect was identified.

MARIJUANA POSSESSION

While at the Motel 6 at 20 Jefferson Blvd. at approximately 11:43 p.m. on Feb. 2, Sgt. Jedidiah D. Pineau reports observing at least two subjects in a running vehicle with its lights on.

A check found the vehicle’s registration to be suspended. Pineau reports that he approached the vehicle, and when the passenger lowered the window, an “overwhelming odor of marijuana was present.” According to the sergeant, all three of the occupants indicated they did not possess a medical marijuana card. The rear passenger reportedly acknowledged having marijuana in his possession.

Pineau reports that the subjects were asked to exit the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed a marijuana cigarette next to the rear passenger seat and a small baggie suspected of containing marijuana within a pack of cigarettes.

Steven D. Chousse Jr., 26, of 38 Ladd St., Warwick, was taken into custody on an existing arrest warrant and issued a citation for possession of marijuana, first offense. Deanna E. McAteer, 21, 957 West Shore Road, Apt. B, Warwick, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana, first offense.
