SHOPLIFTING

Just after 3 p.m. on March 13, Officer Evan Johnson was dispatched to the area of the Warwick Mall following a report of a shoplifting incident at Macy’s.

An asset protection officer at Macy’s had contacted police to advised that two suspects – one male and one female – had fled the store after concealing merchandise. They were said to have left the area in a red Toyota.

While en route to the mall, Johnson observed a vehicle matching the description of the one used by the suspects. He initiated a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the male operator and female passenger, the latter of whom was found through a records check to be wanted on an active warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court.

The passenger was taken into custody on the warrant, and the Macy’s asset protection office subsequently responded to the scene and identified the man and woman as the suspects involved in the shoplifting incident.

Johnson additionally reports that a bag of clothing – some of which was still bearing tags – was found inside the vehicle. Macy’s reported that seven items with a combined value of roughly $550 had been stolen.

Leslie Susana, 21, 121 California Ave., Providence, was charged with shoplifting and transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing. Due to the bench warrant, she was later transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Bryan L. Carranza Munoz, 20, 121 California Ave., Providence, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing. He was later released with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court.

the number of shoplifting cases is going to plummet, except for the tp thefts. domestic dispute calls are going to go through the roof as dad and mom and their evil spawn are going to be looking at each other 24/7. tempers will flair and kids will be locked into closets with red bottoms while mom and dad duke it out in the kitchen over who is wasting more of their bandwidth

    justanidiot,

What you're describing happens during any extreme: "Cabin Fever" in the Winter and heat waves in the Summer, and Mom and Dad can't even get away to their "Friends w/Benefits" as easily now.

On the other end of the spectrum, I expect a sharp spike in births in the early months of 2021.
