Warwick once again scored well in an independent report ranking safety, coming in at 14 out of 30 in a report prepared by Safewise, "The 30 Safest Cities to Raise a Child," which was published Monday, Aug 7.
"It may be the second-largest city in Rhode Island, but Warwick still retains plenty of small-town charm as a cheerful New England seaport," the report reads. "Enjoy miles of beachfront parks, an ice arena, and even a picturesque rocky point outfitted with a scenic lighthouse."
The Safewise report piggybacks another recent report from Wallethub, which came out in July, that ranked Warwick as the 22nd best-run city and the overall number one least violent large city in America.
Both reports were reached in large part due to Warwick's stellar record regarding violent crime, which FBI data showed was just 0.81 violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
Fellow Rhode Island communities of Cumberland (21st) and Narragansett (28th) also appeared on the list. Greenwich, Conn. took the top spot.
