Hawks, Titans shine at West Warwick

The Sgt. Brian St. Germain Invitational was held last weekend at West Warwick High School, and a handful of locals made some noise as they compete in their final meet before the class championships this weekend.

Bishop Hendricken’s Sean Fagan won the 110-meter hurdles as well as the 300 hurdles. Dante Caouette later won the discus throw for the Hawks.

Bishop Hendricken’s Russell White finished in third place in the 100-meter dash, followed by teammates Tom Comella in fifth and Jake White in eighth. Comella would then take home second place in the 200 dash, followed by Russell White in third.

Michael Hanlon later finished sixth for Hendricken in the 400 dash, while Toll Gate’s Michael Murphy took 10th. Nick Capalbo took home fifth for Hendricken in the 800 runs, while teammate Ian Hopkins took eighth and Toll Gate’s Cole Baker ninth. Evan McGregor from Hendricken finished eighth in the 1,500 run.

Ahnyia Phrasathane-Estacio took second place behind Fagan in the 110 hurdles, while Seun Filaoye took third. Cooper Dean then took third place in the 300 hurdles behind Fagan.

The Hendricken relay team of Tom Comella, Nic Comella, Russell and Jake White took second in the 400. Hendricken’s Michael Hanlon, Kobby Harvey-Ewusi, Duwaun Edwards and Nick Capalbo took third in the 1,600. Josh Breard, Valentino Lombardi, Mark Byanski and Ryan Baker then finished 10th in the 3,200.

John Santos then took home fifth in the high jump for the Hawks, while teammate Jordan Robbins took eighth. Toll Gate’s Justin Perreault took third in the pole vault, while Hendricken’s Will Tuttle and Thomas Wilkins split fifth place. Matt Froehlich placed seventh.

Robbins later took seventh in the long jump for the Hawks, while Filaoye finished second in the triple jump, followed by teammate Amuchin Timbo in sixth.

Max Paolino took a fifth-place finish in the shot put for Hendricken, followed by Caouette in seventh and Cameron Hughes in eighth. Hughes also took fourth in the discus behind Caouette, while Paolino took 10th.

Ryan Morel took third in the hammer throw for Hendricken, while Jake Picard took 10th. Teammate Nick Coffey finished second in the javelin, while Pilgrim’s Samuel Toth took seventh.

Josiah Johnson took 12th in the 800 run for Hendricken, while teammate Nathan Clift took 12th in the 3,000 run. Toll Gate’s Elijah Aguilar finished 12th in the pole vault, while Robbins took 11th in the triple jump. Toll Gate’s Brandon Rios took 12th in the discus.
