Warwick Symphony Orchestra presents 3-concert holiday series

In celebration of the holiday season, the Warwick Symphony Orchestra presents a three-concert Holiday Series sponsored by BankRI with selections that are reflective, inspiring, and exciting.  

The WSO will open the Holiday Series at the Greenwich Odeum tonight at 7:30. Music will include the Frescobaldi Toccata, selections from Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, a medley of tunes from Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, and holiday favorites composed and/or arranged by Leroy Anderson, Ted Ricketts, Michael Story, and Ralph Ford. Tickets are $15 General Admission, $12 Seniors, Children 12 and under free. Tickets available through the Greenwich Odeum at www.greenwichodeum.com.

The series continues this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with a presentation of seasonal favorites as the WSO partners again with the combined Royal School of Church Music choirs from St. Peter’s by the Sea- Narragansett & St. Mark’s-Warwick, under the direction of Cheryl Casola & Linda Wiles. Combined choral-orchestral works will include Vaughn-Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols featuring Andrew Gribbin- baritone, as well as a new setting of Sing We Now of Christmas by John Leavitt, and the gospel-styled Noel, Noel by Michael McElroy & Joseph Joubert. The choirs and orchestra will present several other selections independently as well. The concert will be held at St. Peter by the Sea: Central Street, Narragansett.

On Sunday at 3 p.m. the WSO joins with the RSCM choirs at CCRI Bobby Hackett Theater,East Avenue, Warwick

Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 seniors, children 12 and under free. Seating is limited; pre-purchased tickets or reservations are highly recommended.
