Warwick Vets alumni recognized for dedicated community service

Aldersbridge Communities, a nonprofit provider of long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living and independent living services, recently held its 48th Annual Meeting of the organization’s Board of Trustees.

Led by Chief Executive Officer Richard Gamache, MS, FACHCA, the event was held at Winslow Gardens in East Providence and was attended by nearly 100 Trustees and their family members, residents, staff, and community leaders. Guest speaker was East Providence Mayor Roberto DaSilva.

Board President Daniel Genannt, (Attleboro) presided over the 2018-19 Annual Meeting and passed the proverbial gavel to incoming President Jason Preciphs (Rehoboth).

Awards, honors and recognition presented at the 2018-19 annual meeting were as follows:

Community Partner in Excellence: Church of the Epiphany (Rumford), for revitalizing the Pastoral Care Program for the residents at Winslow Gardens and Linn Health & Rehabilitation. Reverend Jennifer Zogg accepted the award on the Church’s behalf.

Community Service in Excellence: Friends of Stephen Messier, accepted by Nathan and Jason Quattrini (Warwick). Messier is a resident of Linn Health & Rehabilitation whose friends spend time visiting. Nathan and Jason, who are brothers and fellow graduates along with Stephen of Warwick Vets High School, took it upon themselves to fund and construct a bowling ramp and plastic bowling set for the residents to use.

Honorary Trustees: In appreciation of their years of service, the following individuals were awarded this status: Rachel Filinson (Providence), Doug Burgess (Boston), Hannah Bell-Lombardo (Smithfield), and Daniel Genannt.

Distinguished Service Award: Hannah Bell-Lombardo received this award in appreciation of her many years of dedication and service to the Board of Trustees. Daniel Genannt worked tirelessly over the past nine years in his capacity as president and in other roles on the Board. Bruce Andrews (1946-2018) was honored in memory and appreciation for his years of service to the Board as treasurer, accepted by his wife, Linda.

Founders Award: To Bruce Andrews (1946-2018, former resident of Lincoln), in memory and appreciation of his dedication to the mission and spirit of Aldersbridge Communities. Andrews, along with past Founders Award recipient Phil Susag (1921-2019, former resident of Manchester), were each honored with a bench containing a plaque bearing their name to remember their contributions to the organization.
